Tammy Hill
Leader of Women's Ministry
Tammy was born in 1961 in an Italian neighborhood in Mt. Vernon, NY which is just north of New York City. Her mother passed away when Tammy was eight. Three years later Tammy moved with her dad, brother & sister to Rio Rancho, NM. By the age of fifteen she was supporting herself and living in SE Albuquerque. Tammy met her husband Brad in 1988 and they married in 1990. Tammy came to Christ in 2004 and has sought to her faith everyday since. Tammy has a daughter Monica and a step daughter Collette. She has also been greatly blessed with a son, Ian, who was born with special needs and abilities. Brad and Tammy were further blessed in 2001 with the birth of another son, Spencer. As the leader of women’s ministry, Tammy feels very passionate about the positive role committed Christian women can have in their community when inspired by faith.
Tara Shaffer
Leader of Gatherings Praise Teams
Tara was born in Carlsbad, NM and grew up in Louisiana & Oklahoma. At the age of 7 she accepted Christ and was baptized. As a child Tara began taking piano and voice lessons and in high school was part of numerous groups where she used her musical talent. In 1991, Tara enrolled at Dallas Christian College where she studied Music and Worship. While at Dallas Christian she met Brandon Shaffer, who is Valley View's lead pastor. Brandon and Tara married in December of 1992. Since that time Tara has been actively involved in worship ministry in the churches where she and Brandon have served. At the current time Tara leads Valley View's Praise Teams and oversees the other aspects of the worship ministry. In addition to serving in the worship ministry, Tara is homeschool teacher, chauffeur, nurse, maid, cook and to Zac, Libbie, Joel and Seth.
Crystal Tanner
Leader of Next Generation: Children
Crystal moved to New Mexico from Texas in 1996, shortly after giving her life to Christ. She met her husband, Shawn, in 1999 and the two were married in 2002. They have three children: Caila, Darrick and Dillon. She has been involved in the Children’s Ministry at Valley View for three years now and has a vested interest in the growth and development of Valley View’s Children’s Church because her oldest is only 7. “In my opinion, you can tell a lot about the health of a church by the number of kiddos.”
